Today is Women’s Equality Day, created to commemorate the 19th Amendment which declared that the right to vote shall not be prohibited on account of sex. The story of how American women got the vote is outrageously amazing (psst: I’m writing a novel about it now). But while today is Women’s Equality Day, we’re not yet equal in the United States Constitution. We’re just waiting for the Equal Rights Amendment to be formally published (tell President Biden #ERANow!).
